An older but beautifully kept hotel with loads of charm. Very clean. GREAT location. Lots of plugs and usb ports available. Staff was amazing from checkin to cleaning to checkout. Very willing to hold our luggage for us - both on arrival and the day we left. Supplies in room refreshed every day - including water, tea, cookies and towels.
Our room faced the street with a lively student union across from us. It was not a problem. We still left our windows open but ran some white noise on our phones and slept like babies.

Featuring a magnificent academic heritage, Oxford is a beautiful city where Gothic spires intermingle with medieval colleges. The home to England’s oldest university, most of the 38 unique colleges are sadly only viewable from the outside. Two that you can visit are Magdalen College, considered one of the most beautiful, and Christchurch College whose quadrangle was used in the 1st Harry Potter film. Its cathedral choir also sings evensong.
Other notable colleges are Balliol and Merton, the 2 oldest, while Hertford College has the Bridge of Sighs. Next door is the cavernous Bodleian Library, overlooking the round Radcliffe Camera, the city’s best-known landmark.
The university also has a botanical garden and the best Oxford museums, including the Ashmolean Museum and Natural History Museum, where swifts nest in summer.
Unsurprisingly for a student town, it has lots of bars and restaurants. Oxford shopping is also good and includes England’s oldest covered market, brightly colored High Street shops, and the Clarendon and Westgate shopping centers.
Whether you arrive by road or fly into London Oxford Airport, don’t leave without trying Oxford punting. In contrast to rival Cambridge, you punt here by standing in the front (rather than on the back). Easily accessed from the Oxford accommodations on Booking.com, the routes take in the River Cherwell and the Isis (the name for this part of the Thames).
I love Oxford. It is a step back into time. I’ve come many times and the only complaint I have is the homeless population seems to be growing. Hope all cities can find a compassionate way to deal with this growing problem especially in a beautiful city like Oxford. I do feel much safer there than in London which I try to avoid.

Absolutely lovely city, but quite expensive, and it has become very touristy since I last visited some 15 years ago lol. The Ashmolean museum is a must (HUGE so wear some comfy shoes), and if you don't want to spend too much just go walking around because the beautiful colleges and houses are all around you. I visited the Bodleian library, which is very beautiful but you don't get to see that many rooms, and Christ Church (same really). I went on a tour to the Costwolds (nice), just wished I had time to go to Woodstock and visit Blenheim Palace which looks terrific!
Do be careful when getting your bus tickets though - there is an app but some tickets aren't valid anytime anywhere, and only for like 15 minutes...

Oxford is a very nice, clean place with a very pleasant ambience, and historic significance. Commuting with public transport is a pleasure, though we missed an equivalent of the 49 Euro ticket in Germany. The city presents buildings of tasteful architecture, free museums of high educational value and enough options for leisure as well.

Christchurch college is a must-visit place.
Christchurch college is a must-visit place. The walk along the banks of the Thames from Kennington to Oxford is quite lovely. The city is very walkable, with much of historical interest. The contrast of the very old buildings and the vitality of the university vibe is great! Busses are everywhere in that old town - very user-friendly public transit.

Oxford is a fabulous destination.
Oxford is a fabulous destination. It has stunning architecture (even if you don't like architecture!) A vibrant social life. Speed limits in many areas make it a safe place to wander. Transport options are excellent. There is a calmness to the city which is charming. Lots of open spaces to relax in, meet friends and enjoy nature.
Located in Oxford's Summertown area The Galaxy is perfectly placed. You can enjoy the nice bakeries and pubs near by and get to the city centre easily. The bus stop is just in front the entrance of the hotel and takes about 10minutes if not less. I preferred going by foot following the Oxford Canal(30min). I was pleasantly surprised by the Trap Grounds Nature Reserve along the way!
The staff were all wonderful! Truly helpful and kind. Couldn't recommend them enough.
The hotel was exactly as advertised. Having never been to Oxford, I had earmarked this hotel years ago as somewhere to stay when I visited, so I had high expectations. We ate downstairs in the bar/ restaurant and were delighted with quality and quantity of food for price… interactions with all staff was also excellent.
The large roll top bath for two was a highlight. Indeed, we even got up early to bathe with our Nespresso coffees! A wonderful stay, thank you.
A quiet little hotel with wonderful staff in North Oxford right next to St Hughes College. My room was small but very nicely appointed with lovely views over the garden. Listening to the birds in the morning was super. Everything was so comfortable, cozy and just right. Lovely breakfast in the morning served in the conservatory with, again, garden views. It is a peaceful, well-run establishment and I look forward to returning often.
The Black Boy is an absolutely lovely and charming hotel located about 20 minutes from the heart of Oxford. As first time UK travelers we had to guess on the location and it turned out to be perfect. A short drive away is the incredible Blenheim Palace which should not be missed under any circumstances.
The town of Headington is quite beautiful. Free parking right out front was a real plus as well. The Black Boy is a real winner!
Comfortable hotel in a quiet location on the edge of Oxford. Easy walk into the city centre takes about 25 mins on £2 on the bus. Our room was clean and quiet with plenty of hot water and a coffee maker. We didn't have time to use the restaurant or bar but the common areas looked good. Staff were friendly and helpful -- especially Claudia who seemed to be working all weekend but carried on smiling!
We enjoyed our one night at the Ethos Hotel. The location is excellent for walking towards the academic part of Oxford. Breakfast was good too, with a nice assortment of options. The best part, however, was the very friendly and efficient staff who helped us with parking and all the other aspects of our visit, and made our stay very pleasant indeed. Many thanks!
Front reception extremely efficient and helpful.
En-suite room clean, and adequately appointed. Bed & pillows very comfortable. Towels lovely.
Breakfast fresh and tasty.
Nothing too much trouble. Everywhere kept spotless. Will definitely stay again at Remont Oxford Hotel.
Very convenient for easy access to the city centre - just a short bus ride away.
Location is perfect. Centre of Oxford , literally minutes from Sheldonian and Ashmolean etc.
If you like history and architecture or a fan of Morse - it's fantastic.
Breakfast in the dining hall was a great experience and excellent food- lots of choices.
Rooms are student halls not luxury hotel rooms but clean and comfortable.
Excellent value for money.
The Linton Lodge Hotel is pleasantly situated in a quiet area of north Oxford, with good provision for parking - mainly at the rear of the hotel - and near regular buses to the city centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. A good breakfast is available, but at other times there is no restaurant at present. However there are plenty of other options.
The room was quiet with a lovely view of the garden. It was great to wake up and see the horses outside.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well laid out for a 5-day stay.
The hotel is so close to Oxford but not in the busy centre offering more peace and quiet than centrally located hotels. The riverside walk to Oxford is excellent.
The room is extremely nice for the money. Large and comfortable, with a good shower and towels. The only problem was the internet went out the last night, but that seems fairly common in England. There was a place to park our car and we just took a 10 minute bus ride into Oxford and a 45 minute one to Blenheim. Much easier than driving and parking.
Fabulous location for exploring the city of Oxford. Rooms were clean, well appointed, comfortable and quiet to sleep in. Great value for money option rather than a pricey city centre hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Everyone in the party left very happy with the accommodation choice. Thank you to all the staff.
Hotel a stone's throw from the Train Station and an easy walk to Oxford restaurants and sights. Staff was kind and helpful. Beds were comfy. We appreciated the kettle with packets of cocoa, coffee and tea and little cookies and biscuits. We also appreciated Netflix available on the TV (through our account).
Hotel reception staff, on arrival very helpful and friendly they let us check into one of our rooms early so we could change for our sons graduation that afternoon.
Bedrooms lovely & breakfast very good. Free parking.
Walking distance to park & ride so easy to get into Oxford city centre.
You can really see a huge improvement in this hotel
it has excelled in service, standard and it’s food offering
just five star and the staff just can’t do enough for you. perfectly placed for Bicester and Oxford city centre
Lovely quiet room overlooking the fields. Breakfast was excellent, well stocked and frequently replenished. The location of the hotel is just a short walk along the Thames or by road to Oxford city centre.
The hotel was beautifully British with updated yet old world finishes, comfort and charm. The room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable. Exactly the experience I would expect in Oxford!
Great location within walking distance of center of Oxford. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast and staff.
Parking was good. Hotel public spaces very nice. Good value too.
I stayed at Rasa Sayang House and personally, I liked the fact that it is within walking distance of Oxford City Centre. The bus stand is just opposite the hotel was also convenient.
